Nearly six months after the tragic earthquake that struck Haiti, the situation is still extremely difficult, in particularly for the 1.3 million people still living in makeshift shelters. While the critical phase of treating the wounded is now over, there are still huge health and humanitarian challenges. As the health system was entirely swept away, there is a long term need for aid towards reconstruction and health care. This means that we must remain involved.
The film “Together with Haiti” illustrates the huge scale of this unprecedented disaster and reports on emergency and post-emergency activities carried out in the field by the NGOs (Aide Médicale Internationale, Care, Red Cross, Handicap International, Médecins du Monde, and UNICEF), partners of Sanofi-aventis. These actions were supported by the Group's commitment and strong support from its employees.
