Philippe Peyre is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique, and began his career in management consultancy with Bossard before being appointed as a member of the executive committee of Bossard Gemini Consulting.

In 1998, he joined Rhône-Poulenc Rorer as Senior Vice President Special Projects, and then served as Head of Integration at Aventis Pharma, and as Company Secretary and Senior Vice President, Business Transformation of Aventis.

He was appointed to his present position in August 2004.
