Sanofi-aventis is committed to ensuring that personal data of its employees, as well as, that of third parties with whom the Group has relations (ex : patients, doctors,, vendors…) are protected.

Sanofi-aventis encourages all employees to pay particular attention to personal data protection.
The Code of Ethics, distributed to all the employees, contains a chapter dedicated to the respect for privacy and personal data protection. It formalizes, together with the Group Charter on personal data protection, the commitment of sanofi-aventis in this area.
Sanofi-aventis has also created a dedicated organization, composed, in particular of a personal data protection committee and a network of data protection representatives, ensuring the appropriate application of the principles of both the Code of Ethics and the Group Charter.
Our specific rules for personnal data transfers or Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs)
In order to facilitate intra-group exchanges, sanofi-aventis is now equipped with internal rules (Binding Corporate Rules) governing the transfer of personal data from one subsidiary, based within the European Economic Area, to another subsidiary of the Group. These rules were also reviewed and validated by the French authority in charge of Data Protection (CNIL), as well as, by the authorities in charge of data protection within the European Economic Area.
Sanofi-aventis’ subsidiaries, concerned by the Binding Corporate Rules, signed an Acceptation Contract, validated by the CNIL, in order to formalize their commitment to respect such rules.
Finally, sanofi-aventis has informed all employees of the implementation of these rules by putting at their disposal a dedicated intranet page and has planned several on-line training courses on the subject.
