Epilepsies

Epilepsies are very varied chronic diseases characterised by the repetition in the same patient of spontaneous epileptic seizures. Depending on the type of seizure and its cause, it is possible to distinguish:

  • generalized epilepsy;
  • partial epilepsia, which is the most common form.

These may be idiopathic (without an obvious cause) or symptomatic of various cerebral complaints.

They require regular, daily and more or less prolonged use of antiepileptic drugs.
