Lipid lowering drugs

Drugs that either lower the blood levels of total cholesterol, of LDL cholesterol ("bad cholesterol") and/or triglycerides, or increase the levels of HDL cholesterol ("good cholesterol").

These are ion exchange resins, marine oils rich in n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, antioxidants and especially fibrates and statins (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors).
