GlossaryStentEndovascular prosthesis (in the form of a "small spring") implanted in a coronary artery during angioplasty. The insertion of stents completes the local endovascular treatment of atherosclerotic lesions. It has made it possible to reduce the prognosis of these patients considerably by reducing the incidence of restenoses. One of the factors limiting the use of stents was the high rate of local thromboses after their insertion: thanks to the use of Ticlid® combined with aspirin, there is now a very low incidence of these complications. |
