For over fifteen years our Group has been committed to a humanitarian sponsorship agenda that is rooted in its history, its business activities and its values. Over time, our philosophy of solidarity has spread with the Group to new countries around the world. Today sanofi-aventis’ humanitarian sponsorship is backed by an international strategy built around the central pillar of healthcare. It includes the donation of medicines and vaccines as well as longer-term activities. This means that, in addition to reacting to humanitarian emergencies, we implement programs for prevention and training, educational and social support, and improving access to healthcare. Children are also a strategic focus for our humanitarian sponsorship. Children who are ill, disabled, mistreated, refugee or on the street are particularly at risk in today’s world. Yet they represent the great expectations and the hope for the future of their countries. Our success in these actions is largely driven by the quality of our partnerships. These help us become more creative and enable to deliver appropriate responses to the social issues we address, beyond purely financial support.
