Launch of the “S.O.S enfants disparus” (Missing Children) commercial produced with the support of sanofi-aventis humanitarian sponsoring
On May 25, 2007 to mark the International Missing Children’s Day, the "Fondation pour l’enfance" (Children’s Foundation) and the INAVEM (French National Institute for Aiding Victims and Mediation) presented the new commercial for “S.O.S enfants disparus” (Missing Children) at the Senate in Paris, produced with the support of sanofi-aventis humanitarian sponsorship. With the backing of the French Ministries of the Interior, Justice and Foreign Affairs, the latest official figures for missing persons in France and the illegal movement of children will also be presented. In addition, a review will be given of the work of “S.O.S enfants disparus”, a platform for supporting families whose children have disappeared, absconded or been kidnapped. “S.O.S enfants disparus” provides insight and information about the missing child phenomenon to government and European agencies. The organization also partners KIDNAPPING ALERT, a system that warns the population when there has been a proven kidnapping of a minor. May 25th was declared National Missing Children’s Day by the President of the United States in 1983 in memory of Etan Patz, the six year old boy who was kidnapped in New York on May 25, 1979 and never found.
