Prostate cancer: Signs and symptoms

Symptoms are not always present in prostate cancer, but when they are they can include:

• frequent urinations, especially at night
• difficulty in urinating
• reduced force or interrupted flow of urine
• painful or burning sensation when urinating
• blood in the urine or semen
• bone pain, often in the lower back, hips and upper thighs
• difficulty in having an erection
