The sanofi-aventis Code of Ethics, the text of which was reviewed and approved by the Management Committee, has been widely communicated to all sanofi-aventis employees throughout the world. The Code affirms the commitment of sanofi-aventis to the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its support for the guiding principles of the OECD and the United Nations Global Compact.
The Code of ethics is closely linked to the values of our Group. It is meant to be a general but not exhaustive presentation by major topic of certain rules and principles which every employee, regardless of his/her level of responsability, has to know and respect in his/her professional environment. On some subjects more detailed procedures and documents have been distributed or may be distributed in the future. An “alert” procedure has been introduced in accordance with the Code of Ethics. This procedure allows any employee to report breaches of the Code: - In France, to the Global Compliance / Conformité department of the Group’s Legal Department based at the Group’s headquarters.
The department conducts investigations with all skills of other departments. - In the United States, an external Compliance Helpline has been set up for the company’s employees in compliance with local regulations and practices.
