On November 5, 2008, sanofi-aventis announced the discontinuation of all clinical trials with rimonabant.
At a conference call on October 23, 2008, the sanofi-aventis management reviewed its decision to suspend the marketing authorisation of Acomplia® in obese and overweight patients, complying with the EMEA’s recommendation.
