Sanofi-aventis calculates its payout ratio, i.e. the proportion of profits paid out as dividend, on the basis of adjusted net income excluding selected items. The payout ratio for the dividend in respect of the 2007 financial year that is subject to approval by the General Shareholder Meeting 2008, is 40%.
