As of September 1, 2004, Agnès Garcia-Gibot, aged 48, is appointed Director of International Internal Communications and Corporate Image for Sanofi-Aventis, within the Corporate Communication department of the new Group, which is headed by Nicole Cranois.

Agnès Garcia-Gibot is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Bordeaux and holds a Master of Arts and a Doctorate in Political Sciences from UCLA (University of California in Los Angeles). She was previously Director of Communication and External Relations at the LEEM, a professional organization which includes 99% of pharmaceutical companies in France.

After beginning her career in 1980 in Public Research, Agnès Garcia-Gibot joined the Elf Aquitaine Research and Innovation Department in 1983 as Development Manager in Human and Social Science. After joining Elf Atochem in 1986, she occupied a number of posts in the communication field before taking charge of the Communication Department and the management of major international projects. Chairman of several European Task Forces, she has made a considerable contribution to promoting the image of life sciences.
